Reynardine wins global competition with textQube

Canterbury-based Reynardine Software has won the first SMS Developer Challenge competition with its TextQube product.
The innovation, which allows employees to access the data held on their firm's PCs through SMS, was judged as best on criteria such as commercial potential, ease of use and benefits to the customer.
Users of the technology can message a request to their company's database, which sends back the required information to the mobile phone.
UK’s strength in innovation.
Mike Thompson of Reynardine Software, said the firm was passionate about developing new ways for businesses to use mobile communications to improve their activities.
"TextQube is fantastic for [small and medium enterprises] that want to mobilise and control information on a new level," he added.
In addition to the winning product, Reynardine Software also created the CareText SMS application, which allows SMS to be used for human resources tasks, and SpeedyStaff, a technology to improve communications businesses have with their workers.
The company beat competition from Netherlands-based Cotralis SMSGPS whose product facilitates mobile blogging and CallMeBack from Singapore, which controls conference calls by SMS.
The competition was organised by business communications firm Esendex.

Reynardine Software

I'm very interested in the potential for the Tqube application. Its a quick download then you can attach it to your own database. Using either Textanywhere or Esendex SMS as gateway providers you can then open up your database to anyone with a mobile phone. The mobile user sends a recognised code to your database by sending the text to your SMS account mobile number. Tqube is polling the account for new messages, reads it, looks up the response and sends it back to the mobile phone. Use it for instant feedback info for estate agents, theatre, restaurant availability, tourist info, timetables, etc , etc.
